Intelligent Copy Option

Systems and Files (Quick Copy Mode)

  • The duplicator automatically copies only the data area, rather than the empty spaces within the capacity, which reduces the duration of the copy process.
  • This copy mode supports the file formats such as Windows (FAT16/32/64/NTFS), Linux (ext2/ext3/ext4), and Mac (HFS/HFS+/HFSX). If the file system format to be copied is not among the supported formats above, then system will automatically switch to "whole media copy" mode.

Whole Media

  • The duplicator copies from the initial sector to the end, bit-by-bit.
  • There are no format limitation in this mode.

Quality Inspection

  • H2 Read/write speed inspection: In-built H2 test with read/write speed inspection which is being widely used in the industry.
  • H5 Read/write speed inspection : strictest quality inspection by writing into and reading the flash memory.

Quality Testing / Checking Functions

Capacity Check

Verifies the initial sector and the final sector of the connected flash device within 2 seconds.

H3 Read Only Test

This function tests the readability of every sector on the connected USB device(s) and provides an average read speed. This test will not alter the data on the device(s).

H5 Write/Read Test

Overwrites machine-generated values to all sectors in the NAND flash, and verifies them to determine quality. Once the test passes, the devices are then formatted into FAT.

H6 Quality Test

Resembling the H5 test, it overwrites machine generated-values only to the empty sectors without disturbing pre-existing data, partitions, and formats.

Q1. What are the distinctions between the "Quick Copy" and "Whole Media" duplication methods?

  1. Quick Copy: (Choose Function 7.2 Copy Area - System and Files) This method reduces duplication time by copying only the data-containing areas within supported formats. When "Quick Copy" is selected, the duplicator analyzes data formats, capacities, locations, etc. Once the analysis is complete, the duplication process begins. If the source data is larger than the target's capacity, the copy will fail.
  2. Whole Media Copy: (Choose Function 7.2 Copy Area - Whole Media) This mode skips data analysis and performs a bit-by-bit duplication of the entire source device. It ensures the most accurate data replication but is slower compared to the Quick Copy method.

Q2. Why is the duplication process slow?

U-Reach flash duplicators support high copy speeds of up to 33MB/sec. If your flash device is copying slower than expected, use "Function 6.2 Measure Speed" to check the reading and writing speeds of your devices. For example, if the measured writing speed is 10MB/sec, duplicating 1GB of data will take approximately 2 minutes.

Q3. What diagnostic tools are available for the flash duplicator?

There are three featured diagnostic tools:

  1.  Function 4: Media Check: This tool rigorously checks the quality of inserted flash devices. It performs a bit-by-bit inspection to identify any bad sectors in the flash devices.
  2. Function 6.2: Measure Speed: This function measures the actual reading and writing speed of the flash device within 10 seconds. It helps with device quality control by estimating duplication durations.
  3. Function 6.3: Capacity Check: This function determines the actual capacity of any inserted device. It is useful for detecting fake flash devices that may have been purchased.

Q4. How can data duplication accuracy be ensured?

  1. To check data source consistencies and record the checksum value, select "Function 6.8 Calc. Checksum".
  2. To verify target data consistencies and use hardware-enabled bit-by-bit comparison, select "Function 2 Compare". This function ensures that the source data mirrors the target data.

Q5. When performing a BIOS update, the screen displays a "No Update File" message. What should I do?

  1. Make sure the BIOS file is unzipped.
  2. Ensure that the BIOS file is stored in the root directory of the device without any folders.
  3. Save the BIOS file to another device and verify that the device is of good quality.
  4. Redownload and save the BIOS file again. Temporarily disable any software utilities that may interfere during the download process.
  5. Verify that the BIOS file corresponds to the product model that requires the update.

Q6. What causes immediate duplication failure after starting the copy process?

  1. Ensure that the source capacity is smaller and will not exceed the capacities of the target devices.
  2. When duplicating an NTFS formatted source device, the target device capacity must be at least 1MB greater than the source.
  3. Verify the source device using a PC to ensure error-free access.
  4. If duplicating SD card devices, check if they are locked.

Q7. Why do some ports display a red indicator light after the copy is completed?

  1. If the same socket repeatedly emits a red light, it may be severely worn out. Contact your local vendor for a socket replacement.
  2. Are you using Flash adapters such as MicroSD-to-SD adapter or USB adapter to copy SD/MSD/CF, etc.? The adapter quality may be subpar, causing instability. Try using another adapter brand. For mass copy production, professional Flash duplicators are recommended
