Whether you're dealing with older SATA interfaces or the latest 4Kn HDDs, our duplicator is compatible with SATA I/II/III and 4Kn HDDs, ensuring versatility and compatibility.

Sanitization Functions:

Erase Functionality Compliant with NIST SP 800-88r1 and DoD 5220-M Standards Secure erase functions wipe drive contents within seconds

Supporting Various Interfaces for Seamless Connectivity

Our HDD duplicator goes above and beyond in terms of compatibility. It supports 2.5" and 3.5" SATA HDDs and SSDs without the need for an adapter. Additionally, it offers compatibility with other interfaces when combined with an additional adapter, including mSATA, SATA DOM, eSATA, iVDR, M.2 (NGFF), and MicroSATA. No matter the interface, our duplicator ensures hassle-free connectivity and duplication.

Questions & Answers

Q1: What are the differences between system and files copy and whole media copy modes?

  • HDD duplicators support all brands of HDDs and perform bit-by-bit copying at high speeds, typically taking 1-3 hours to duplicate a 1TB HDD (actual speeds may vary based on HDD and duplicator models).
  • The HDD duplicators also offer a "data-only quick copy" feature, which allows users to save time by skipping empty HDD sectors.
  • In addition to the copy function, the duplicators provide additional features such as erase and DOD erase.

Q2: How long does it take for the HDD duplicators to complete the duplication of a 1TB HDD?

  • Carry SAS series: Copy speeds up to 18GB/min. Duplicating a 1TB HDD takes approximately 1 hour.
  • Industrial ITS/MTS Standard Series: Copy speeds up to 18GB/min. Duplicating a 1TB HDD takes approximately 1 hour.

Q3: What is the difference between HDD duplicators and ghost software?

  • GHOST:
    • Requires installation on the PC and can only work with 2 HDDs simultaneously.
    • The operation speed depends on the computer's CPU, RAM, BUS, SATA/IDE, and HDD models.
  • HDD duplicators:
    • Capable of simultaneously backing up large quantities of HDDs without any decline in speed.

Q4: Can I duplicate HDDs with different capacities?

Yes, you can copy HDDs with different capacities. However, it is important to consider the copy mode you choose:

  • If you select the quick copy mode, the duplicator will analyze whether the data can be duplicated based on the capacity and location.
  • When copying with the NTFS format, the target HDD's capacity must be at least 1MB larger than the source HDD.

Q5: Can I copy SSD HDDs?

Yes, all HDD/SSD duplicators support copying SSDs.

Q6: What are the possible reasons for a copy to fail?

There are several possible reasons for a copy to fail:

  1. Ensure that the data capacity of the source HDD does not exceed the capacity of the target HDD.
  2. When copying with NTFS, make sure the target HDD's capacity is at least 1MB larger than the source HDD.
  3. If the copy stops or fails during the process, check for any bad sectors on the target or source HDD.
  4. If you cannot identify the reason, provide detailed information about the operation process, including the model number and version, HDD brand, capacity, data size, format, and partition of both the source and target HDD. Fill out the support form from the website for further assistance.

Q7: Why is the copying process slow?

Several factors can cause the copying process to slow down:

  1. The speed limitation of the HDD, which can be checked on the PC.
  2. Verify if the HDD is placed horizontally or vertically, as any movement can affect the reading or writing speed due to the HDD's design.
  3. If you are copying multiple HDDs simultaneously, check if the issue is specific to certain targets. It might indicate damage to the connector module caused by usage. Contact your local seller for a replacement connector module or mobile rack.

Q8: Can I copy encrypted data?

As encryption methods vary (e.g., software or hardware encryption), it may require actual testing to determine compatibility. Follow these recommended steps for testing:

Note: Ensure that the capacity of the target drive is equal to or greater than the capacity of the source drive before testing.

Step 1: Perform Data Area Copy on the Duplicator

  • Green light: The copied device can be used normally (OK).
  • Red light at the beginning of replication: The machine cannot detect the device (FAIL)
  • Green light: The copy is finished, but the device cannot be used normally (Proceed to Step 2).
  • Red light during copying or near completion: Proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Perform Whole Media Copy on the Duplicator

  • Green light: The copied device can be used normally (OK)
  • Green light: The copied device cannot be used normally (FAIL).

If the device cannot be used normally after performing the Whole Media Copy, it indicates that the encryption method may be restricted to specific device serial numbers or model information, rendering the copied device unusable.
