Key Features
|
Standalone, FPGA-Based Operation
No PC, operating system, or software required. The embedded FPGA controller eliminates virus and hacking risks while ensuring consistent, repeatable operations via a simple 4-button interface and backlit LCD. |
Speeds Up to 10.2 GB/min (170 MB/sec) High-speed FPGA engine with dedicated per-port bandwidth — no speed degradation regardless of the number of connected targets. Actual throughput depends on the SSD's native read/write capabilities. |
|
Native NVMe & SATA Support Supports PCIe NVMe (Gen 3, Gen 4, Gen 5) and M.2 SATA protocols natively. Compatible with both M Key and B+M Key interfaces. Optional adapter (TB1589) adds traditional SATA support. |
Four Copy Modes System & Files copies only data areas. All Partitions handles HPA/DCO. Whole Device clones bit-by-bit. Percentage copies a user-defined portion of the source. Choose the mode that best fits your workflow. |
|
Built-In Bit-by-Bit Verification Compare function performs a strict bit-by-bit comparison between source and targets. Copy+Compare mode automates both operations sequentially for hands-free, verified duplication. |
Five Sanitization Modes Quick Erase, Full Erase (NIST SP 800-88r1), DoD 3-pass, DoD 3-pass with verification, and Secure Erase (NIST SP 800-88r1) — covering everything from routine reuse to compliance-grade destruction. |
|
All M.2 Form Factors Supported Compatible with every standard M.2 SSD size: 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, 22110, 3030, 3042, 3060, and 3080. Rubber standoff retention system makes SSD installation quick and tool-free. |
Modular, Serviceable Design M.2 sockets are modular and field-replaceable — reducing downtime and long-term cost of ownership. Firmware is field-upgradeable via SD card or source port. |
|
18 TB+ Capacity Support The embedded controller is designed to support NVMe and SATA devices with capacities exceeding 18 TB, with ongoing updates ensuring compatibility with the latest drives on the market. |
Advanced Security Features Boot password protection and key-lock function restrict unauthorized access. Configurable start-up menu, target tolerance settings, and disk signature management provide granular control for production environments. |
Supported Protocols & Interfaces
The NV-BM S Series natively supports both NVMe and SATA protocols across M.2 form factors, with optional expansion to traditional SATA via adapter.
|
NVMe PCIe Gen 3 / Gen 4 / Gen 5 |
M.2 SATA Native B+M Key support |
M Key PCIe NVMe M.2 |
B+M Key SATA & PCIe M.2 |
Optional: Adapter TB1589 adds support for traditional 2.5" SATA drives, expanding the unit's versatility beyond M.2 form factors.
Copy Modes & Verification
Four duplication modes and a hardware-level verification function cover every cloning scenario — from fast data-only copies to forensic-grade full-device replication.
| Mode | How It Works | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| System & Files (Quick Copy) |
Analyzes the source device's format and copies only the data-occupied areas. Supports FAT16/32/64, NTFS, Ext2/3/4, and HFS/HFS+/HFSX. Significantly reduces duplication time by skipping empty space. | Standard cloning where the source uses a recognized file system and speed is a priority. |
| All Partitions | Copies all defined partitions on the source including the ability to copy or skip HPA, DCO, unknown partitions, and modified formats based on user-configurable settings. | Multi-partition environments, drives with hidden or protected areas, or situations where partition-level control is needed. |
| Whole Device | Copies the entire source device bit-by-bit from the first sector to the last — data, empty space, format tables, unallocated regions, and all sectors without any analysis. | Proprietary or unknown formats, forensic cloning, or when an exact sector-level replica is required. |
| Percentage (%) | Copies a user-specified percentage of the source device's total capacity, starting from sector 0. | Partial cloning scenarios, or when only the beginning portion of a drive is needed. |
| Compare | Performs a strict bit-by-bit comparison between the source and all target devices to verify data integrity after duplication. | Quality assurance and mission-critical workflows where verified accuracy is mandatory. |
| Copy + Compare | Automatically executes the Compare function immediately after duplication completes — one operation, fully verified, no manual intervention. | Production and compliance environments requiring hands-free, verified duplication. |
Tip: Before duplicating, review your Copy Area setting (6.2), GPT Backup Area (6.3), Skip Bad Area Sectors (6.4), and Unknown Format handing (6.6.1) to optimize speed and accuracy for your specific media.
Secure Erase Functions
Five built-in sanitization modes ensure data is permanently and irreversibly destroyed from NVMe and SATA SSDs — from quick index-table clearing to multi-pass DoD-compliant overwrite with verification.
|
INDEX ONLY Erases the device's index table for fast routine clearing. |
NIST 800-88 Overwrites all data on the device, compliant with NIST SP 800-88r1 Clear standards. |
3-PASS DoD Three-pass overwrite compliant with DoD 5220.22-M standards for complete destruction. |
3-PASS+VERIFY DoD 3-pass erase followed by automatic verification that erasure is complete. |
NIST 800-88 Erases non-loadable (non-user-accessible) areas, compliant with NIST SP 800-88r1 Purge standards. |
Note: By default, the source port is disabled for erase operations to protect source data. To enable source-port erasing, navigate to Setup → Advanced → Erase Master (6.6.2) and set to Enabled.
