WHY PHYSICAL DESTRUCTION?
Software-based data erasure leaves room for doubt. Degaussing doesn't work on SSDs. Physical destruction is the only method that renders every type of storage media permanently unrecoverable — and the HDT04-JAB makes that process fast, portable, and verifiable.
Whether you're decommissioning drives in a secure data center, meeting NIST 800-88 physical destruction guidelines, supporting HIPAA or CMMC compliance workflows, or providing certified destruction services on-site at a client facility, the HDT04-JAB delivers documented, visible proof of destruction every time.
Key Features
-
-
8-Second Destruction Cycle
From the moment you press START to the completion buzzer, the entire destruction cycle takes approximately 8 seconds. At sustained throughput, that's over 100 destructions per hour — making the HDT04-JAB one of the fastest compact destroyers in its class.
-
One Machine. Five Destruction Modes.
Swap between five interchangeable tool heads to destroy virtually any storage media type: 3.5″ and 2.5″ HDDs (punching method), 2.5″ SSDs, USB drives, and SD cards (crushing method at 5mm pitch), and M.2/mSATA SSDs (crushing method at 3mm pitch). Optical discs (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) are also supported using the HDD tool configuration. Every tool change is completely tool-free — slide in, turn the thumbscrew, and you're ready.
-
12 Tons of Hydraulic Force
A hydraulic lift table raises the storage media against a fixed destruction tool with up to 12 tons of pressure. This patented mechanism doesn't just dent or bend — it punches clean through HDD platters and crushes SSD memory chips into fragments. A built-in spring-loaded pusher plate automatically separates the destroyed media from the tool head, preventing the "biting" problem that plagues other destroyers.
-
Server HDD Mounter
Compatible HDDs used in enterprise servers and storage arrays typically ship in proprietary mounting carriers (caddies). Removing these for each drive wastes valuable time. The HDT04-JAB accepts drives with mounters still attached — just slide the caddy into the tray and destroy. No disassembly required.
-
Built-In Verification Counter
An LCD counter tracks every destruction event — both a resettable job counter (per session or engagement) and a permanent total counter (lifetime use). This provides a built-in audit trail for compliance documentation without external logging software.
-
Two-Button Simplicity
The entire operation uses just two buttons: START and STOP. The LCD display provides real-time status messages — "Press START," "Working," "Remove Media" — so any operator can use the unit with minimal training. Indicator lights (Ready, Error, Power) provide at-a-glance status.
-
Intelligent Safety Systems
The HDT04-JAB won't operate unless conditions are safe. A door-open sensor halts operation if either the work door or tool door is opened during a cycle. Tool-tray detection prevents mismatched combinations from running. An overheat warning triggers at 60°C with on-screen guidance. A circuit breaker protects against overcurrent events.
-
Compact, Portable, Field-Ready
At just 289mm × 187mm × 410mm (roughly 12″ × 8″ × 16″) and 40 lbs, the HDT04-JAB is built for mobility. A rugged transport case with casters and an extendable handle is included, making this unit ideal for on-site destruction services, mobile ITAD operations, and deployment at client facilities. Retractable side handles on the unit itself make it easy to lift in and out of the case.

HOW IT WORKS
Step 1 — Install the Destruction Tool. Open the tool door on top of the unit. Slide the appropriate tool head into the guide rails and secure it with the thumbscrew. No wrenches or special tools needed.
Step 2 — Load the Media. Place the target drive or media on the matching tray. For HDDs, position with the label side up and platters toward the front of the device. Insert the loaded tray through the work door and push it to the stop.
Step 3 — Press START. Close the work door until it clicks. When the blue Ready light illuminates and the screen reads "Press START," press the green button. The hydraulic table rises, presses the media against the destruction tool with up to 12 tons of force, and returns to the home position — all in about 8 seconds.
Step 4 — Remove and Verify. When "Remove Media" appears on screen, open the work door and pull out the tray. The destroyed media shows visible physical damage: punched holes through HDD platters, or crushed and fractured SSD circuit boards. Photograph or document the result for your destruction certificate, then load the next drive.
